This feature is fully implemented in the current version.
The Elements tab is your library of documented water infrastructure. Browse, search, and manage all captured elements.
Overview



Elements List
The main list shows all documented elements with:
- Thumbnail - Photo preview
- Name/Type - Element name or type if unnamed
- Type icon - Visual indicator of element type
- System - Which system it belongs to (if any)
- Sync status - Local or synced indicator
Elements are sorted by creation date, newest first.
Search
Use the search bar to find elements by:
- Name - Search element names (case-insensitive)
- Type - Search by type name
The search is instant and filters as you type.
Type Filter
Filter elements by type using the filter menu:
- Tap the filter icon in the navigation bar
- Select a type (Well, Tank, Trough, Pump, Valve, Junction)
- List updates to show only that type
- Select "All Types" to clear the filter
Filters combine with search - you can search within a filtered list.
Element Detail
Tap any element to view full details:
Info Cards

Actions
Access actions via the menu button:
- Edit - Modify element details
- Share - Share element information
- Delete - Remove element (with confirmation)
System Assignment
From the element detail view:
- Tap the System card
- A picker sheet appears with available systems
- Select a system or "None" to unassign
- Change is saved immediately
Inspections
The Inspections section shows the history of recorded inspections for this element. Each inspection includes:
- Timestamp
- Condition assessment
- Gauge readings (if applicable)
- Inspection photo
Note: Full inspection workflow is planned for a future release.
Deleting Elements
To delete an element:
- Open element detail
- Tap the menu button
- Select Delete
- Confirm in the dialog
Warning: Deletion also removes the associated photo. This action cannot be undone.
Empty State
When no elements exist, the list shows guidance:
"No elements yet. Use the Camera tab to add your first piece of equipment."
Data Persistence
Elements are stored locally using SwiftData:
- Immediate save - No manual save needed
- Offline access - View elements without internet
- Background sync - Changes sync when connected
Next Steps
Once you have elements:
- Group them into Systems for better organization
- View their locations on the Map
- Configure sync and account settings in Settings
